Sequins stuck on inside of dryer!! Help! How to get out?!?!!
by LeAnn
Hey,
I Accidentally placed a dress with sequins in the tumble dryer and they are now melted on the inside of the drum!
How am I supposed to get them from the walls of my dryer?
I have already tried water and finger-nail polish remover.
Thanks!
My reply is "oh dear what a pickle"!
The only way you stand any chance of removing them, is to run the dryer on a warm cycle with nothing in it, and after a few minutes of warming up see if they have softened up enough to allow you to remove them.
Other wise I'm not at all sure how to proceed but if the drum is enamelled or stainless steel finish you should be able to prize them off the drum wall and hope they have not been ingested into the inner workings of the drier, but the fluff-filter should have stopped any getting away.
If there are hundreds of them it will take some time. Otherwise I can only see a new tumble dryer as the answer, which seems a bit drastic.
You should have checked the wash care label using my guide

This could be a lesson to anyone with garments with adornments attached, sequins these days are normally attached with glue as opposed to each being individually sown on as in the old days. Which is the main reason that such garments have become more reasonably priced due to the fast process, but also the material that they are made of plastic as opposed to metallic items in the old days.
Always read the instructions on your machine and garment wash care labels in future.
All the best Brian I hope this helps you a bit.
